Osaka is one of the largest and most populated cities of Japan. It is also part of the Keihanshin metropolis, which includes the three largest Japanese cities (except Tokyo): Kyoto, Kobe and Osaka. It is not a surprise that millions of tourists travel to this amazing city every year. Besides Osaka Castle, there are dozens of interesting sights and programs in Osaka as well.

Visit Kaiyukan

Kaiyukan is known all around the world as one of the largest and most amazing aquariums.  The tanks with more then 11,000 tons of water exhibit the most interesting aquatics: sharks, whales, dolphins, otters and seals. The largest tank (4,500 tons of water!) is the most outstanding sight of Kaiyukan.

For an entrance fee of 2000 Yen (adults) or 900 Yen (children) you can see this gorgeous aquarium collection as well. It is open between 10.00 and 19.00. The address is 1-1-1 O Kaigandori, Minato Ward, Osaka.

 

Visit Tenpozan Ferris Wheel

Visiting Tenpozan Ferris wheel is surely one of the top things to do in Osaka! If you want to have fun and see large parts of the city as well, this Ferris wheel is a must-see for you. It is located next to Kaiyukan, so you can visit both of these attractions on a single day. It has a height of 112 meter (369 feet) and its diameter is 100 meter (330 feet).

Since its opening in 1997, Tenpozan Ferris wheel offers its visitors an amazing sight on the surrounding places, such as Osaka Bay or Mount Ikoma. During this 17-minute ride I’m pretty sure you will fall in love with this city.

The price of a ride is 700 Yen, both for children and adults. You can have a ride between 10.00-22.00 every day. The address is 1-1-1 O Kaigandori, Minato Ward, Osaka.

 

Play at Umeda Joypolis Sega

Umeda Joypolis Sega is part of an amazing mini-world in central Osaka. This arcade place occupies the 8th and 9th floors of Hep Five Building. This building is quite unique and interesting: not all the buildings have a Ferris wheel on the top of it! Umeda Joypolis has hundreds of arcade games, it’s all up to you which one you choose to play with. If you have children, be careful, because the local laws prohibit children playing here after dark.

This place is open between 11.00-23.00 every day. The prices of the arcade games vary, but the admission to the Ferris wheel on the top of the building is 600 Yen. The address is HepFive 5-15 Kakudacho, Kita Ward, Osaka.
