More than 60 percent of Japan’s population lives in large cities and metropolitan areas, therefore more people live in urban areas than in rural places.  If we talk about the tourism of Japan, we have to mention several rural sights and destinations as well. Even if the most known sights in Japan are located in cities such as Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, Yokohama, Kobe, etc, sometimes the rural destinations have more purity and pleasure.

If someone goes to Japan, they’re probably traveling to a large city; traveling to a more silent place is a very rare option for the tourists. Rural destinations are the best places to get away from the noise and crowd of the city. If you are in Japan, do not miss out the rural beauties of the Land of the Rising Sun. This article presents the top 3 rural destinations in Japan; you won’t regret visiting these places.

This tiny, but beautiful village is one of the most amazing rural destinations in Japan. This small fishing village is located on the edge of Shimane Peninsula, on the island of Honshu. The unspoiled Mihonoseki is far away from the noise of any large city, so if you want to have a peaceful and relaxing trip in rural Japan, you should visit this petite village.

There are so many sights in this city as well: Mihonoseki Lighthouse, the oldest lighthouse in Snin;  Miho Shrine, the ‘headquarter’ of all Ebisu gods in Japan; Aoishidatami Street full of traditional and old-styled houses, the amazing Gohon Matsu Park, etc.
