Sapporo, a major city in Japan is mostly visited during winter. Only some thousands of people visit this great city during spring or summer, which, compared to the millions of people coming here for the Snow Festival is quite a low number. The most popular tourist attractions of Sapporo are totally separated from the world-famous Sapporo Winter Festival.

Historical Village of Hokkaido

This large establishment displays its exhibitions in a large park, outdoors, and is definitely one of the best museums in Sapporo. Visiting this place is like a thorough history class: there are 54 hectares full of historical buildings and structures from the feudal era of Hokkaido, Japan.

The Historical Village of Hokkaido is open between 9.30 and 16.30, and it is closed on every Monday and on the New Year holidays. The admission fee is 830 Yen for adults and 610 Yen for students and children. Between December and March, the fees are 680 and 550 Yen. The address is Konnopporo 50-1, Atsubetsu-cho, Atsubetsu-ku, Sapporo.

Sapporo Winter Sports Museum

Sapporo Winter Sport Museum is a very popular tourist destination,because, like many other popular destinations in the city, it is also related to Winter. The museums displays thousands of valuable sport tools and items which were used on Sapporo Winter Olympic Games in 1972. Besides seeing these sport tools, you can also try out different winter sport simulators.

The museum is open between 9.00 and 17.00 with no closing days. The admission is 600 Yen for adults, 450 Yen for elderly. There is no admission fee for students and children . The address of Sapporo Winter Sports Museum is Miyanomori 1274, Chuo-ku, Sapporo.


Sapporo Beer Museum

Sapporo Beer Museum, also called Sapporo Beer Garden is one of the most popular museums in Sapporo, not only because it is the only beer museum in Japan, but for its amazing exhibitions as well. It was built in 1890 by the Sapporo Seito (Sugar) Company and it had been a beer factory for a long time.

You can visit the Beer Museum between 9.00 and 18.00 every day. It is closed only on the New Year Holidays (December 30- January 3). The admission is free. Their address is North 7 East 9, Higashi-ku, Sapporo.
